Dear Sir or Madam, I have received information from the Austrian Embassy in Bangkok that the Austrian Honorary Consulate in Vientiane can issue the confirmation required for my planned marriage to a citizen of the Lao PDR. For submission to the Lao authorities, I require a consular confirmation or an affidavit so that my fiancée can apply for permission to marry abroad. The Austrian Embassy in Bangkok informed me that I must provide the following documents: My passport, My fiancée’s passport, The “Extract Regarding the Existence of a Marriage or Partnership” confirming that I am not married. Therefore, I would like to kindly inquire: How can I obtain this document from your consulate? Do I need to make an appointment? If so, how can I book an appointment? Is a personal appearance required, or can the documents be submitted in advance by email? How long does it usually take to issue the document? Thank you in advance for your assistance. I look forward to your reply. Yours faithfully, David Karagozian
