Laos eVisa Document Requirements at a Glance
To apply for a Laos eVisa, applicants only need 2 documents:
- Passport Bio Page
- Applicant Photograph
No other documents are required during the application process.
1. Passport Bio Page
Upload a clear scanned copy of your passport bio-page. The scan must:
- Show the entire bio-page, including all the 4 corners and the MRZ code at the bottom of the page.
- Be of high quality
- The passport must be valid for 6 months from the arrival date in Laos and have atleast 1 blank page.
Note: Do not upload screenshot of the passport-bio page.
2. Applicant Photograph
Submit recently taken (within 6 months) passport-size photograph. Ensure the photograph:
- Is in color
- Have a white plain background
- Has no shadow
- Have a neutral expression

Will Applicants be Required to Submit more Documents?
The online application process only requires 2 documents (as mentioned above). However, if more documents are required at the time of application processing, the applicant will be contacted.
What Happens if the Uploaded Document Needs Correction?
Once the documents are submitted, they are reviewed by visa professionals and if some correction is required or reupload become necessary the Laos eVisa Support will guide applicant on what steps to follow so the application process can continue smoothly.
What Documents will be Required at the Laos Border?
The traveller will be required to show:
- Passport (carry the passport used for the application )
- Approved Laos eVisa (also carry a printed copy)
- Sufficient fund proof (bank statement or other similar document)
- Proof of exit from Laos (flight ticket, bus ticket, train ticket)
Note: The immigration officer may request applicants to present more documents. Therefore being prepared in advance will smoothen the entry process.
