Laos eVisa Document Requirements at a Glance
To apply for a Laos eVisa, you only need two documents:
- Passport Bio Page
- Applicant Photograph
No other documents are required at the application stage.
Passport Bio Page
You must upload a clear scanned copy of the bio page of your passport showing the following information clearly:
- Applicant’s full name
- Passport number
- Date of birth
- Passport expiry date
- Country of issue
- The machine-readable zone (MRZ) at the bottom of the page
- Passport issue date
Your passport must remain valid for at least 6 months beyond your planned date of arrival in Laos.
Applicant Photograph
You must upload a recent photograph as part of your Laos eVisa application. The photo should meet the following requirements:
- Taken within the last 6 months
- Face facing the camera directly
- Maintain a neutral expression with eyes open and mouth closed.
- Plain, light-coloured background (white is preferred).
- Do not wear fashion accessories that cover your face or ears.
- Religious headwear is permitted if the full face remains visible.
- No filters or digital alterations.
The photograph must be a natural image of you and must not be a scanned or photographed copy of a printed photo.
Can I use a selfie for my Laos eVisa photo?
Yes, you may use a recent
selfie, provided your face is clear, the background is plain and light-coloured, and the photo
is unedited.
Important Clarification on Laos eVisa Requirements
Both the Visit and the Travel eVisas follow the same document requirements. The eVisa type you select during the application defines the purpose of your travel.
There are NO additional documents required, such as:
- Invitation letters
- Hotel reservations
- Flight tickets
- Proof of travel purpose
- Employment or business documents
The Laos eVisa application form does not ask you to submit documents to prove why you are travelling. Selecting the correct visa type is sufficient.
